“Rameez Patel told me that he killed Fati” – Brother of accused testifies in Limpopo

Razeen told the court what happened on the day of Fatima’s murder, about his brother asking him to take the nanny and children to the warehouse on the afternoon of her murder.

This, he told the court, happened the evening of her death.

“Rameez told me that he killed Fati,” he was heard saying, adding that if he told anyone, he would be next, Polokwane Review reports.

Razeen told his father about a week before the latter was shot dead. His murderer has not been caught yet.
Razeen also later informed his mother about Rameez’s confession and she was then shot in September last year.

“On the day of the burial of my mother, Rameez pointed to the grave and said that I don’t know him. He will put me there too,” Razeen testified.

Razeen also told the court what happened on the day of Fatima’s murder, about his brother asking him to take the nanny and children to the warehouse on the afternoon of her murder.

When Razeen later arrived at the warehouse, he (Rameez) had changed his clothes and brought the clothes he had on earlier, some toys and Fatima’s handbag as well as a gun.

He (Rameez) then asked Razeen to bring him a black bag and put all the items in the bag and then into a box, which was hidden in the warehouse. Rameez was arrested a week later.

After court adjourned for lunch, Adv Johann Engelbrecht SC who now represents Rameez, cross-examined Razeen.
