School orchestra stuns with rendition of ‘Stairway to Heaven’
If you close your eyes, you would think this musical piece was compiled by a group of professional musicians, when in fact a group of schoolchildren performed a magical version of this classic rock song.
A school orchestra is going viral after a video of their rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven was posted to their school’s Facebook page.
St Andrew’s College in New Zealand posted that the performance was held at the school’s annual prizegiving event.
“This year, the spotlight shone on various talented groups, however, the true crescendo of the evening came during the grand finale, a rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven that left the packed auditorium of around 3,500 attendees astounded,” read the Facebook post.
The performance included 120 singers and musicians.
“The overwhelmingly positive feedback received from prizegiving attendees reflects the impact of this incredible performance. In response to the high demand, we have compiled a video capturing the magic of the finale number.”
