Secunda woman killed, husband in custody

It is alleged that an argument between the couple led to the murder.

A 70-year-old man allegedly shot and killed his wife (49) at their house in Brandspruit Street in Secunda last night.

According to the police, the couple had an argument leading to the murder at about 22:35.

It is alleged that the victim’s husband shot her once, in the back of her neck. She was certified dead on the scene.

The husband was arrested and will remain in custody until he appears in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

A 9mm short Astra pistol and live ammunition were confiscated from the scene.
