Sibanye-Stillwater murder accused remains in custody
A West Rand man who allegedly stabbed his colleague to death and took selfies after the murder is due to again appear in court on June 13.
Murder-accused Boinehelo Lefefa’s case has again been postponed, this time due to his advocate’s absence.
Lefefa faces a charge of premeditated murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of his colleague that occurred on November 9.
On May 30, Lefefa appeared in the Westonaria Regional Court.
The magistrate said the advocate was in Cape Town and postponed the case to June 13.
“You will remain in custody until then,” the magistrate said.
Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane says the stabbing happened in front of onlookers at the Leseding Hostel.
Mjonondwane says Lefefa allegedly stabbed the deceased several times, cut open his stomach, and tried to cut off his head.
He then allegedly took the victim’s cellphone, and took photographs and made videos posing with the deceased.
