Slight increase in Mpumalanga’s dam levels
The Department of Water and Sanitation's weekly state of reservoirs report of November 16 shows that there was on average an increase from 63,5 per cent to 64,1 per cent.
A slight improvement in water levels of some of the listed dams in the Mpumalanga province was recorded this week.
This is as a result of Grootdraai Dam in Gert Sibande District that increased from 76,4 per cent to 83,5 per cent, and Longmere Dam in Ehlanzeni District from 46,9 per cent to 52,1 per cent, as the majority of those listed continued to drop. Buffelskloof Dam in Ehlanzeni also contributed to the average increase as it recorded a slight increase from 48,5 per cent to 49,6 per cent.
In the same region:
- Blyderivierpoort Dam dropped from 84,4 per cent to 82,9 per cent;
- Driekoppies from 69,7 to 68,8; Klipkoppie from 12,5 to 9,9;
- Witklip from 61,1 to 59,7;
- Primkop from 76,5 to 71;
- Kwena from 39 to 37,1;
- Inyaka from 49,9 per cent to 49,4;
- Ohrigstad from 8,3 per cent to eight, and
- Da Gama Dam remained unchanged at 48,8 per cent.
