South African arrested for murder in Ohio, USA

Three suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of a man, including Anthony Theodoru from South Africa.

A South African man is among two others who were arrested in Ohio, United States for allegedly killing a man by injecting him with drugs.

Auglaize County Sheriff Michael Vorhees said Timothy Hovanec was reported missing Tuesday (April 19)  to the Wapakoneta Police Department. This prompted an investigation and Auglaize County deputies located his body in a rural area of Auglaize County.

Detectives have arrested three defendants related to the death, the deceased’s estranged wife, Amanda Hovanec, her mother,  Anita Green and Anthony Theodoru from South Africa.

Each defendant faces a charge of aggravated murder and is incarcerated at the Auglaize County Correctional Center on a $2 million ( approximately  R 31 592 400) bond each.

Authorities said the victim was in the county conducting family business.

The investigation continues and assisting deputies with the investigation are the Wapakoneta Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Auglaize County Prosecutor’s Office, Auglaize County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Auglaize County Dog Warden and the Grand Lake Task Force.
