Spaza shop owner brutally murdered in eMalahleni

Six unknown men robbed and killed a spaza shop owner and robbed five other people.

In a turn of unfortunate events, a 23-year-old man, who was a spaza shop owner, was murdered during a house robbery in Klarinet, eMalahleni.

According to Witbank police, six unknown men broke into a home in Bird Street and demanded to see the spaza shop owner on Saturday at 21:00.

It is believed that when the owner heard the suspects were looking for him, he jumped to lock the door to his bedroom.

When one of the men noticed, he fired shots at the door and subsequently shot the shop owner.

According to police, the men allegedly robbed five other occupants who were inside the house of their belongings before they fled the scene.
