Spiking attacks on N12: Armed suspects use rocks to trap vehicles

Motorists are urged to be vigilant after armed suspects used large rocks to spike vehicles on the N12 near Delmas, damaging several cars in overnight attacks.

Motorists travelling on the N12 between the R42 and R50 exits were targeted in spiking incidents last night.

According to AfriForum in Delmas, large rocks were deliberately placed on both lanes of the highway, causing extensive damage to multiple cars, Witbank News reported.

The AfriForum team regularly patrols the highways to clear the road of rocks and spiking objects, and warns motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially when travelling at night.

“Do not stop under any circumstances unless absolutely necessary. These suspects are reportedly armed and are known to rob victims of their personal belongings,” was the message from the team.
