After nine days without rolling power cuts, load-shedding makes an unwelcome return.

After nine days without rolling power cuts, load-shedding makes an unwelcome return.

Eskom has announced that load-shedding will once again be implemented from this afternoon.

Power utility spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says power cuts will alter between stages 2 and 3 until further notice.

“After nine days of good generation performance and no load-shedding, it is necessary to replenish emergency reserves ahead of the anticipated cold weather that will increase the demand for electricity over the next few days,” she explains.

Schedule:

  • Stage 2: From 16:00 until 16:00 tomorrow.
  • Stage 3: From tomorrow at 16:00, daily between 16:00 and 05:00.
  • Stage 2: From Tuesday morning at 05:00, daily between 05:00 and 16:00.
