Stepfather to appear in Standerton Magistrate’s Court over rape of 14-year-old

A teenager who was raped twice, allegedly by her stepfather, ran away from home.

A man accused of raping his stepdaughter (14) is due to appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court today.

Ridge Times reports that, according to Captain Braam Robberts, spokesman for the Standerton Police, the 14-year-old girl had run away from home after allegedly being raped twice by her stepfather in September.

The girl was found by CPF members in a rural home with several boys.

According to Robberts, the girl claims that the first sexual attack happened after her mother and stepfather had been at a tavern together. The stepfather had returned home and was alone with the girl, while the girl’s mother remained at the tavern.

The second incident happened after the girl’s mother and stepfather had an argument. The mother left to sleep at a friend’s house, leaving the girl alone with the accused.

According to Robberts, the accused then allegedly bribed the girl with R100 to remain silent.
