Suspects gain access to Lydenburg bank and flee with undisclosed amount of money
Police say a bank's ATM room was accessed through the roof, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during an overnight break-in.
Lydenburg SAPS has opened a case of business burglary and is seeking an unknown number of suspects following an incident at a well-known banking institution.
Lowvelder reports that, according to reports, when staff members arrived at work on Wednesday, they noticed something was wrong and immediately informed the bank manager.
Security and SAPS were alerted. Both crime prevention units conducted an inspection of the premises and established that the ATM room and ATM had been tampered with, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect(s) gained entry through the roof, as it was also damaged.
Police are appealing to members of the public for information that may assist in apprehending the suspect(s).
