Teacher stabbed, shoots attacker during hostage situation at Krugersdorp school
The teacher managed run to his car and fetch his firearm while others were held hostage in the staff room.

A man, who allegedly held teachers hostage with a knife yesterday, was shot and killed allegedly after a teacher who first fired a warning shot and was stabbed by the man at Kagiso Secondary School in Krugersdorp.
Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya says a man (22) arrived at the school yesterday at around 07:30. It is alleged he demanded to speak to the principal.
The man entered the staff room where teachers were in a meeting and allegedly held them hostage with a knife.
Sibiya says one of the teachers managed to escape and ran to his car where he grabbed a firearm. He first fired a warning shot into the air. It is alleged that the knife-wielding man charged at him and stabbed him in the arm.
The teacher allegedly fired several shots, one of which hit the man in his upper and lower body.
The man was declared dead on the scene while the teacher was rushed to hospital.
The Kagiso Police has opened an inquest docket.
