Technical issues impact millions of Microsoft users in SA, UK
The computer software company says it is investigating why users in especially South Africa and in Britain are unable to access services.
Microsoft 365 users in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) have been reporting issues with the platform since around 13:00 this afternoon, with many reporting they are unable to access various of the software and cloud-based services provided by the developer.
Taking to X, Microsoft 365 Status says: “We’re investigating reports of an issue where some users in the EMEA region are unable to access one or more Microsoft 365 services. Please follow the SI MO737187 in your admin centre for more details. Majority of the reports are coming from South Africa and the United Kingdom.”

Downdetector by Ookla’s South African domain had 6 489 reports by 13:32, with the majority of issues (72%) being related to the email services tool Outlook.
No estimated time has been given to resolve the issues.
