Three armed men rob Benoni house
No arrests have been made after three men robbed a house in Rynfield, Benoni, yesterday.
Benoni police spokesperson Lieutenant Nomsa Sekele said three armed men gained entry to a property on Sarel Cilliers Street in the early afternoon by lifting up the gate, Benoni City Timesreported.
“A man employed to paint the fence of the property was present, and they pointed a firearm at him and entered the house,” said Sekele.
According to the police report, the residents were home when the incident happened.
Two televisions, a laptop and perfumes were stolen.
The robbers then found the keys for a Toyota and used it as their getaway vehicle.
That was after they had thrown the keys of another car into the swimming pool.
Police are investigating the incident.
Yesterday, CCTV footage emerged showing a gang of burglars stealing goods from a Sunward Park home in Boksburg, Gauteng, last week.
One of the suspects is seen fiddling with the gate and eventually derails it with the help of his accomplice.
Three of the alleged suspects are then seen stealing what appears to be plasma screens and other goods worth R30 000.
No arrests have been made.
