3 burnt bodies found in Alexandra

Police are investigating a triple murder that occurred near the Helen Joseph Women’s Hostel in Gauteng.

Residents of Alexandra were left shocked after three men were brutally killed and set alight at the Vukani informal settlement on Saturday (July 4), reports Alex News.

Police in Gauteng confirmed they are investigating three counts of murder following the discovery of the burned bodies near the Helen Joseph Women’s Hostel.

A video circulated online showed emergency personnel extinguishing the flames, with the victims’ bodies visibly charred and bearing severe wounds.

Community members reported hearing multiple gunshots before discovering the men’s remains.

While police have not confirmed whether the victims were shot, spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said firearm cartridges and a magazine were recovered at the scene.

“The motive for the incident is unknown at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.”

The incident has added to growing concerns about violent crime in the area.

Sibeko appealed for community co-operation, urging anyone with information to contact the Crime Stop line at 08600 10111.
