A woman and two other people sustained burn wounds when a tub of chafing fuel, used to keep food warm, set one person’s clothes alight, causing the two others to also sustain burn injuries.

The incident happened on Saturday at a small restaurant in Raslouw, Centurion.

Emergency responders Cert-SA said in a statement that the woman “sustained severe burns to her face, neck, chest, and arms”.
