Toddler dies after being mauled by dogs in Upper Tongaat

A case of culpable homicide has been opened following the tragic death of a young boy.

A two-year-old boy died from the serious injuries he suffered when being mauled by two dogs in Upper Tongaat, KZN, yesterday.

The incident occurred while the toddler was playing with friends at his home in Esinembe.

Tongaat police spokesperson Captain Jasanathan Naidoo says the boy sustained severe head and body injuries during the attack.

“The dogs’ owner has been identified and a case of culpable homicide has been opened,” says Naidoo.

In April last year, a 33-year-old Seatides domestic worker was critically injured by a loose pit bull while walking home.
