Watch: Anti-Zuma protest disrupts traffic on Beyers Naudé Drive

Residents have disrupted traffic along Beyers Naudé Drive.

Protesting residents have all but stopped traffic going south on Beyers Naudé Drive near the N1 Highway in Johannesbur, and have blocked one lane going south near the Roosevelt Park substation, reports the Randburg Sun.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes where possible.

Around 10 000 protesters are expected at the DA’s march at Mary Fitzgerald Square, while residents are also gathering at Beyers Naudé Drive, the Roosevelt Park substation, Hendrik Potgieter Road in Roodepoort, Witkoppen Road, and along Conrad Drive in Blairgowrie today.

Meanwhile, the Fourways Review reports the Sunninghill community, in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs, came together in Kilindini Park on the corner of Kilindini and Nanyuki roads to protest.

Cars hooted in support and the numbers of protesters were increasing.

The residents of Sunninghill were chanting “Zuma must fall, better country for all”. They formed a miniature human chain as a community highlighting that they would stand together and let their voices be heard and created a banner saying. “It’s enough already”.
