Two headless bodies discovered near Middelburg
Police in Mpumalanga have launched a murder investigation after two mutilated bodies were discovered near Middelburg.
Two headless bodies were found in the Avontuur area near Middelburg in Mpumalanga, the Middelburg Observer reports.
A police source said it seems that the bodies were mutilated after death, as the hands and feet of both bodies were missing.
Furthermore, it appears that both victims had been shot before their heads, feet and hands were chopped off. The body parts have not been found near the bodies.
A blood trail was followed by the police, leading to a nearby home. The homeowner could not be found.
The house was found locked, but blood that was found outside the house led the police to believe that the men may have been attacked inside the home, where they were presumably shot. The bodies were thought to be moved to the location where the discovery was made.
It is unclear when exactly the men were killed.
The police are investigating a murder case.
