Update: DA provincial director shot dead in Margate murder-suicide

Sarbhera Amod, a dedicated activist against GBV, now tragically counts among its victims.

The woman who was shot dead, allegedly by her partner, was identified as the DA’s Provincial Director in Mpumalanga, Sarbhera Amod.

Yesterday, South Coast Herald reported that the shooting happened on January 1 at a rental unit in Margate.

Preliminary reports suggest that an argument between the couple escalated, and the man shot Amod in the head before turning the gun on himself.

A 9mm Beretta pistol was found on the scene by police.

The DA in Mpumalanga posted that Amod will be remembered for her courageous spirit and brilliant operational mind.
