Update: Kidnapped Mpumalanga men found in Gauteng

Four prominent businessmen's sons were found in Walkerville after they were hijacked and kidnapped between Standerton and Trichardt.

The sons of four prominent businessmen from Trichardt near Secunda in Mpumalanga have been found.

Jakes Saber confirmed to Ridge Times that his son, Yusuf, and Jameel Salley, Ahmed Dhorat and Ziyaad Salley are well and in good spirits.

According to information received from several security and other groups, the four were hijacked and kidnapped on the R546 between Standerton and Trichardt at around 22:30 on Monday.

They were found in Walkerville – a Gauteng village – where they had been dropped off in the bush.

The incident

The four men allegedly went to Standerton to play padel tennis and the incident happened on their way home.

They were travelling in a white Volkswagen Tiguan, and large sums of money were apparently drawn from their bank accounts.

It is alleged their cellphones lost signal near Vosloorus.

Various emergency groups sent out requests on social media platforms to be on the lookout for the men.

Attempts to obtain comment from provincial police were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
