Van Coke wins much-anticipated boxing match against Hougaard
All the arguments and disputes between fans about the outcome in the celebrity BoxOp event are finally over as South African rock artist, Francois van Coke won the match.
The first-ever of its kind boxing match between Van Coke and former Blue Bulls rugby player Derick Hougaard took place at Time Square on Saturday.
The match consisted of six rounds of 90 seconds each.
During the build-up to the event around three months ago, the celebrity boxing match had fans abuzz about the event.
Van Coke said he never felt so much pressure from fans who said they are vouching and betting on him.
“I was convinced that I was going to win,” he told Rekord.
Van Coke said that he had a plan of action on how to approach the match.
“I want to thank everyone who supported and helped me to prepare for the match over the last three months.
“It was a great journey,” he said. Van Coke previously said that the boxing match gave him the ability to grow.
