Video: 11 killed and several trapped in Isipingo crash

A crash on the R102 in Isipingo left 11 dead and several trapped, with ALS Paramedics describing the scene as gruesome.

A serious motor vehicle crash with multiple fatalities and entrapments was reported on the R102 between Orient Hills Primary School and the M35 in Lotus Park, Isipingo, this morning.

According to South Coast Sun, ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson confirmed that 11 people died and several others were trapped in the wreckage, requiring specialised rescue efforts.

He described the scene as gruesome. The full circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been established and investigations are underway.

The Witness reports that the crash involves a taxi and a truck. According to witnesses on the scene, the truck driver had attempted to do a U-turn, resulting in a head-on collision.
