Video: Ford Ranger crashes through wall into pool in Mbombela

Residents of Mbombela were left stunned when an alleged drunk driver ploughed through their wall and landed in their swimming pool.

A Mbombela resident got the surprise of his life when a Ford Ranger bakkie ploughed through a wall and into the pool of his rented home.

Lowvelder reports that security companies were first alerted earlier about a motorist driving recklessly in West End last night.

Just before 20:00, an alleged drunk driver crashed into Kyle Scott’s rented home on Aurora street at Enterprise, Steiltes.

“We were sitting in our backyard when a vehicle crashed through the wall into our pool,” Scott shared.

He and his wife were utterly shocked and alerted emergency services immediately.

Officials rushed to the scene, and Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med confirmed that the driver sustained only minor injuries.

Van Wettens Towing was at the scene to help remove the vehicle, a white Ford Ranger, from the Scotts’ pool.

There are unconfirmed reports that another vehicle was involved in the incident. Witnesses at the scene said that the Ford driver first crashed into a Mercedes Benz, and then lost control of his vehicle before ploughing into Scott’s backyard.
