Video: Women assaulted in council chambers in Secunda
A woman shares a video clip of frightened council members inside the chambers that have been stormed be angered residents.
Two women, councillors from the DA and EFF, were yesterday assaulted in the Govan Mbeki Municipality council chamber when Brendan Village community members disrupted the council meeting.
The residents are upset about the lack of electricity supply and other services.
During the incident yesterday, the DA councillor was slapped while a chair was thrown at the EFF councillor.
Cases were opened and police are investigating.
