Videos: 2 men rescued from raging Komati River by SANParks chopper

A rescue mission unfolded on the Komati River as a SANParks chopper airlifted two men to safety after they were stranded on a rock in fast-flowing waters.

Two men were safely rescued from the raging waters of the Komati River in Tonga, Mpumalanga, yesterday evening.

The men were clinging to a rock in the river.

A Kruger National Park spokesperson, Isaac Phaahla, said the Mpumalanga SAPS requested the assistance of a SANParks chopper from Skukuza.

The chopper responded to the call for assistance and successfully extracted the men from the water within 30 minutes.
