UPDATE: SANParks helicopter rescues two men stranded in Komati River

The rescue mission did not take long as a helicopter was swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Two men were safely rescued from the raging waters of the Komati River in Tonga this evening, April 30.

The men were clinging to a rock in the river.

A Kruger National Park spokesperson, Isaac Phaahla, said the Mpumalanga SAPS requested the assistance of a SANParks chopper from Skukuza.

The chopper responded to the call for assistance and successfully extracted the men from the water within 30 minutes.
