Voting for ANC Top 7 takes place today
The presidential position will be contested by ANC NEC member Zweli Mkhize and incumbent ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa.

As the ANC’s 55th National Elective Conference convenes for day three, voting for the party’s Top 7 officials is expected to take place today.
The conference is scheduled to wrap up on Tuesday.
Nominations for the officials which saw the addition of a seventh member were announced earlier today.
There are at least 4 436 voting delegates whose credentials were approved.
Interesting facts:
ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member Zweli Mkhize will go up against current ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa for president, while NEC member and Justice Minister Ronald Lamola, Eastern Cape Premier and ANC provincial chair Oscar Mabuyane and ANC treasurer general and acting secretary-general Paul Mashatile are vying for the deputy president position.
ANC MP Lindiwe Sisulu was elected from the floor for treasurer general, however, she failed to garner the threshold required which is 25%.
CoGTA Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma declined nominations for president.
NEC member and outgoing deputy president David Mabuza also declined nominations for deputy president.
Of the existing Top 6, only Ramaphosa and national chair and Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Gwede Mantashe might possibly come back in their existing positions.
