Watch: Gunmen caught on camera hijacking a car in Durban
A security guard was forced to lie down on the floor while the suspects assaulted the victim and then drove off in his car.
Police in Montclair in Durban, KZN, have launched a manhunt for two suspects who hijacked a blue BMW 330d on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened at a petrol station in Montclair at 21:30.
The two armed men, in casual clothes, accosted the victim at gunpoint and demanded his car keys.
CCTV video footage captured at a petrol station shows one of the suspects assaulting the victim while the other forced a security guard to lie down on the floor.
The suspects then drove off in the victim’s car.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Noma Mnguni says police are investigating a case of carjacking. Mnguni says the police are still searching for the victim’s car.
The victim, Keagen George Barratt, posted on Facebook on Tuesday, saying the car was ‘last tracked in uMlazi’.
