Watch: Missing child’s clothes found near Durban river
Reaction Unit South Africa is searching for a seven-year-old boy whose clothes were found near a fast-flowing river.
The clothes of seven-year-old Sqalo Phumelela Natlooa were found near a river in Cato Manor in Durban, KZN, this afternoon.
The Witness reports that Sqalo was reported missing by Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) this morning after he did not return with his friends following a hunting trip into the forest yesterday.
“Three boys and four dogs returned without Ntlooa. The crew [found] the missing child’s clothing near the Albert Luthuli Hospital and is searching a fast-flowing river for several kilometres downstream,” says Rusa’s spokesperson Prem Balram.
Sqalo was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and orange pants.
Rusa’s R44 helicopter crew has identified key areas along the river for ground teams to search, and reaction officers are scouring the riverbanks to try and locate the missing boy.
