WATCH: Truck crashes through roof of Pinetown warehouse

Rescue Care paramedics, alongside firefighters and other emergency services were on scene.

A TRUCK driver was seriously injured when the truck he was driving left the road and plunged through the roof of a warehouse in the Pinetown area this afternoon.

According to Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, the truck smashed through an armco barrier and landed in a warehouse at the bottom of a steep bank.

Paramedics, firefighters and emergency services were on scene. No workers from the warehouse were reported to have been injured in the accident.

“The truck driver managed to free himself from the wreckage and, with the assistance of the staff from the warehouse he was taken to safety,” said Mathios.

The driver was stabilised on scene and taken to a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is not yet known and is being investigated by local SAPS.
