Watch: Woman tries to storm stage at unveiling of King Shaka statue
Security swiftly intervened as a woman attempted to rush the stage during the unveiling of a statue of the late King Shaka.
A woman attempted to rush onto the stage where President Cyril Ramaphosa, Zulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini, and other prominent cultural and political leaders were seated during the unveiling of a statue of the late Zulu King Shaka at King Shaka International Airport today.
The target of the woman is believed to be King Misuzulu, but her motives have not yet been established.
In video footage, the woman is seen rushing towards the stage but is intercepted by security before reaching it.
Despite being restrained, she slapped security personnel and made another attempt to approach the stage.
Fortunately, security officers promptly intervened, grabbing her and escorting her away from the stage and out of the event.
