Krugersdorp husband’s ‘brief’ encounter leaves wife speechless
A West Rand couple’s love of practical jokes has hit the streets, showing what happens when you leave your car keys in the hands of a prankster with a point to prove.
Some couples buy flowers or chocolates. Others plaster giant photos of each other in their underwear across a car.
Krugersdorp News reports that for West Rand couple Chandre and Raeno Scholtz, public humiliation appears to be their love language.
Chandre found that out the hard way when her car returned from ‘repairs’ covered in oversized stickers of her husband posing in nothing but his underwear alongside the words: “I really love my husband”.
While many saw it as a bizarre public stunt, the couple said it was simply the latest move in a long-running prank war.
Prank war escalates
Raeno explained that the prank was payback after Chandre and their children drew all over him while he was asleep and even put chilli and lemon in his mouth during an earlier prank.
“We’ve been in this prank war for years, and I’m just getting my wife and kids back for what they did to me,” he said.
Chandre, however, said she was only retaliating after Raeno embarrassed her on Valentine’s Day by sticking a photo of her next to a bottle of dishwashing liquid on the dishwasher with the words: “Employee of the month.”
“I was sick when Raeno told me he was taking my car in. I was completely happy until he came back. The only way I can describe my reaction is speechless,” she said.

Free sticker job
The prank escalated further when Raeno drove to Randburg on Monday (May 11) to have the stickers printed and installed. According to him, the company found the idea so funny that they did it for free.
Chandre now has to drive the vehicle around for at least three weeks before the stickers can safely be removed without damaging the paintwork.
Chandre works as a local administrator in Krugersdorp, while Raeno is a manager at a motor dealership in Randfontein. The couple lives in Wilropark, meaning the now-famous vehicle could easily be spotted anywhere across the West Rand.
Raeno concluded by saying he is anxious about what Chandre might be planning next and is now sleeping with one eye open.
