Woman critical after R21 crash

The woman in her 20s was airlifted to hospital.

A woman in her 20s is in a critical condition following a serious collision on the R21 near the Nellmapius bridge in Pretoria on Saturday night.

Emer-G-Med paramedics spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said paramedics at the scene found that a light motor vehicle and a heavy motor vehicle had collided.

“A female passenger of the light motor vehicle, believed to be in her 20s, sustained critical injuries and was stabilized by Emer-G-Med paramedics prior to being airlifted by an aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility,” he said.

“The driver of the light motor vehicle sustained minor injuries only.”
