Woman’s partially burnt body found near N1 offramp in Limpopo

Limpopo police say the woman has not been identified yet but is in her thirties, has a dark complexion, and short hair.

The police in Pienaarsrivier, Limpopo, have opened a murder docket following the discovery of a woman’s partially burnt body over the weekend.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the body of an unknown African female was discovered at the Maubane off-ramp on the N1 near Pienaarsrivier on Saturday.

“Police on patrol were stopped by members of the community after they discovered a partially burnt body of a woman lying in the bushes next to the offramp,” his statement reads.

Ledwaba says the deceased has not been identified yet but notes that the woman is in her thirties and has a dark complexion with short hair.

“The deceased was wearing a red leather jacket, a black pair of jeans, and a pair of red boots,” he says.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are still under police investigation.

“Police are appealing to anyone with information that can help identify the deceased or regarding the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Morudu on 072 380 6470, the crime stop number on 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or via the MySAPSApp,” he adds.
