South African racer Mikey Taylor takes IMSA TCR Championship

South African motorsport star Mikey Taylor and his teammate, Chris Miller, have clinched the 2024 IMSA TCR Championship.

South African motorsport sensation Mikey Taylor has made history by winning the 2024 IMSA TCR Championship with his teammate, Chris Miller.

Raised in a family steeped in motorsport, Taylor’s passion for racing was ignited from a young age. This dedication has propelled him to international success.

“This win is a testament to the talent and dedication of South African racers,” says Motorsport South Africa CEO Vic Maharaj. “It shows that there are exciting opportunities beyond Europe, especially in the US.”

Taylor credits his strong work ethic and resilience, honed in South Africa, for his success. He’s particularly impressed by the US racing culture, which he describes as welcoming, competitive, and focused on fan engagement.
