Updated Mercedes-AMG G63 price in SA

The updated Mercedes-AMG G63 is priced from R4 630 600, making it a hair below R200 000 (or R199 526, to be precise) more expensive than the pre-updated model it replaces. As standard the sticker price includes a two-year/unlimited km warranty and a maintenance plan spanning five years or 100 000km.

Of course, like before, a raft of items is included as standard with the flagship G package. There are, of course, also a myriad options to personalise the G63 to your liking. Included in the options list are the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II, the Manufaktur Dark Chrome and Two-Finish packages, Comfort package, and an array of 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels, among many other available kit. In addition, for those who want to venture off the beaten track, Mercedes-Benz offers a few off-road accessories.

As a reminder, the AMG G63 is equipped with the Affalterbach brand’s familiar 4l twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, which drives the fore and aft axle via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The updated model gains 48 V mild-hybrid tech, which, for brief periods, provides up to 15kW and 200N.m of additional boost. According to the firm, the V8’s peak power and torque outputs of 430kW and 850N.m allow the apex G to complete the obligatory 0-100km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds, before topping out at 220km/h.
