2026 MG3: Four models, new features and a hybrid option
South African buyers can choose from a range of petrol and hybrid options, multiple transmission choices and a host of standard features.

Included with the updates made to the MG3, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone screen mirroring are now standard across the range. Luxury+ trim gains two front USB Type-C ports and a new high-definition 360-degree surround-view camera array. MG has also introduced two new exterior colour options: Medal Silver and Andean Grey.
“These updates are a direct response to what our customers value most – intuitive technology, modern design, and everyday practicality,” said Jack Wang, Vice President of MG Motor South Africa. “With these updates to the MG3 range, we continue to deliver more as standard, making advanced features and connectivity accessible to a broader audience.”
2026 MG3 price in SA
Pricing for the updated MG3 range kicks off at R269 900 and tops out at R469 900. Included with the price as standard are a five-year/150 000 km warranty and three-year/45 000 km. The Hybrid+ derivative further includes a seven-year/200 000 km battery warranty.

As a reminder, the MG3 is available with the choice of two powertrain options in SA. The first comes in the shape of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol, coupled with either a five-speed manual or CVT transmission, producing 81 kW and 142 N.m of torque. Spearheading the lineup, the Hybrid+ model’s new-energy setup comprises a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit and single electric motor, fed by a 1.83 kWh battery. One of the most affordable hybrid vehicles in SA, this derivative is endowed with a combined system output of 155 kW and 425 N.m.
