Warrick Gelant nominated for URC Try of the Season
The Try of the Season award, which fans will decide on, will be announced in mid-June.
DHL Stormers fullback Warrick Gelant is among the 10 nominees for the 2023-24 Vodacom United Rugby Championship (URC) Try of the Season award.
As the Vodacom URC edges closer to crowning its 2023-24 champion, the winners of the annual URC Awards will be announced over the coming weeks.
The Try of the Season award will be decided by fans, with votes being cast on the official URC website.
Gelant’s sensational effort in the DHL Stormers’ victory over Leinster in Cape Town has earned a nod, as the fullback showed an outrageous piece of skill to sell two Leinster players with a dummy before backing himself to score in the corner.
Joining Gelant on the shortlist are Lions duo Quan Horn and JC Pretorius, Sharks fullback Aphelele Fassi and Vodacom Bulls scrum-half Embrose Papier.
The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 13.
