Bulls get revenge in Glasgow
The Bulls are one point behind second-placed Glasgow Warriors and within reach of a top-two finish in the URC.
The Vodacom Bulls avenged last season’s URC final defeat to Glasgow Warriors with an impressive win at Scotstoun Stadium last night.
The visitors defended superbly in the first half when the Warriors had the bulk of the possession and territory, before stepping up a gear in the second. Tighthead prop Wilco Louw led the scrum assault, while flyhalf Johan Goosen landed all six of his goal kicks.
The 26-19 victory moves the Bulls to within one log point of second-placed Glasgow, whose two late tries saw them pick up a bonus point.
With home matches against Cardiff (10 May) and the Dragons (17 May) to come for the Bulls, and Glasgow having to play Leinster in their last league-stage match, Jake White’s men are looking good for a top-two finish.
The Bulls lost Bok flank Marcell Coetzee to a knee injury in the warm-up, with debutant Juan Else taking his place on the bench.
Brilliant defence from Man of the Match Jan-Hendrik Wessels prevented Glasgow from scoring an early try as the Bulls loosehead prop held up winger Sebastian Cancelliere.

Two penalty goals from Goosen, the second from just inside his half, gave the visitors a 6-0 lead, before Louw was yellow-carded for a shoulder-to-the-head tackle on opposite number Patrick Schickerling.
Glasgow made their one-man advantage count when replacement wing Jamie Dobie scored a converted try, but Goosen’s long-range penalty just before the break put the Bulls 9-7 ahead.
Ten minutes into the second half, the visitors kicked for the corner instead of at goal, with hooker Johann Grobbelaar going over from the lineout drive. Goosen kicked the conversion and then added a penalty.
Good work from Bulls winger Sebastian de Klerk down the left touchline then saw David Kriel score to make it 26-7.
Glasgow captain Kyle Steyn and centre Stafford McDowall scored late converted tries to cut the deficit to seven, but the Bulls won a penalty from the last restart and kicked the ball out for the win.
