Wales and British & Irish Lions fullback Leigh Halfpenny has reportedly met with a 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok about playing domestic rugby for him.
According to Midi Olympique, Bob Skinstad recently sat down with the 36-year-old Halfpenny to discuss the possibility of joining French second-division club Beziers.
The French publication claims Halfpenny met with both Skinstad and rugby director Johnny Howard, before flying to southern France last week to tour the club’s facilities.
The 101-cap Welshman’s contract with Harlequins expires at the end of this season.

Skinstad, who played 42 Tests for South Africa and was part of Jake White’s World Cup squad 18 years ago, serves as Beziers president after leading a takeover consortium alongside former All Blacks flyhalf Andrew Mehrtens and ex-Formula 1 boss Eddie Jordan in November 2024.
Should Halfpenny join Beziers, the ex-Cardiff, Scarlets and Crusaders playmaker would add to a growing Welsh contingent in PRO D2 that includes Owen Lane, George North, Tomas Francis and Sam Davies.
Beziers currently sit sixth in the PRO D2 table, pushing for promotion to the Top 14.
