Go natural this Christmas
These gift wrapping ideas will not only save you money, but are planet-friendly.
It’s such an expensive time of the year, and people are always looking for ways to save money at Christmas time.
Here are some fantastic tips to stretch your rand on gift wrapping this festive season.
The truth is, we throw away mountains of wrapping paper. It only gives pleasure for a moment and then it becomes a pollutant. So why not go natural this year.
All those beautiful Christmas papers are quite costly, so try using brown paper bags, wrap your gifts with brown paper, or if you have an old book, you can glue the pages together and wrap with that. There is so much you can do, just get creative.
The ideas are endless, in fact get the children involved, let them make the gift tags from last year’s Christmas cards.
You can embellish your gifts and tags with a range of things you will have in your home like off cut pieces of lace, hessian, string, different colour ribbon, paper or fabric doilies to give a stylish lacy look, buttons, etc.
Another great idea is making fabric bags out of leftover fabric, tie with a piece of ribbon and add a Christmas tag. Or you could buy some hessian which is cheap. Voila! Simple and easy and the recipient has a little bag they can reuse.
So get the family into the Christmas spirit and also teach the children how they can save the planet by using a little ingenuity and creativity.
