Manor Cricket Club A Team clinches spectacular victory to conclude league season

Young prodigy James Wright showcased his budding talent with a dominant spell, claiming 3 crucial wickets and conceding only 19 runs, crippling Oceanville's hopes of a competitive total.

Manor Cricket Club A team finished their Prestige 30-over League season with a bang, claiming an emphatic 6 wicket victory.

Facing off against Oceanville Cricket Club, the men from KwaDukuza bowled first after losing the toss.

Oceanville’s batsmen had some flashes of brilliance, but they could not keep out future star James Wright (16), who cut through the top order with a blistering 3 for 19 in his allotted six over spell.

Youngster James Wright delivered with the ball, claiming 3 for 19.

Gerald Nagiah top scored with 24 as Oceanville were scuttled for 136.

Manor Cricket Club made light work of the total, passing it in the 25th over by way of skipper Alvero Nadasen’s unbeaten 75 and 16-year-old Darshan Pather’s 32.

Five of the team were aged 16 and under, showing great maturity in front of a partisan Oceanville crowd and against a team of adults.

Alvero Nadasen played a captain’s knock, finishing on 75 not out.

It bodes well for the future of cricket in KwaDukuza, where the area is represented by the iLembe Cricket Union in the KwaZulu-Natal’s Premier League.
