At Epworth, the vision is to free the potential in individuals to become relevant, resilient and ethical leaders who contribute to our ever-changing world. Founded in 1898, Epworth has been at the forefront of education for over 120 years.
The school’s values of faith, compassion and courage have been a powerful guiding light throughout our history.
Today they are an integral part of the Epworth experience. Located in Pietermaritzburg on a spacious, park-like campus, Epworth offers an excellent, rounded education to girls from Grades 8 to 12. The tight-knit community of 330 girls, comprising three classes per grade, caters for boarders (weekly and termly) and day scholars. Ensuring pupils achieve and realise their full potential in all areas of school life is central to our educational ethos.
Success is seeing pupils who aspire and work diligently to outperform their personal goals. Academics take centre stage, focusing on opening minds through a broad, evolving and open curriculum.
This is underpinned by top teaching staff, a structured academic support programme and first-class facilities.
