The coast that pleases

The North Coast Courier took to a number of beaches on New Year's Day and asked holidaymakers what their experience of the North Coast has been like.

Holidaymakers on January 1 said that there was little that could be done to improve their experience of the North Coast over the holidays.

Taking the little ones – Jaco and Kruger Pieterse – for a dip at Salt Rock main beach were mom and dad, Malandi and Johan.

The North Coast Courier took to a number of beaches on New Year’s Day and asked holidaymakers what their experience of the North Coast has been like.

Middelburg residents, Makgomo, Kutloano, Princess and Dimakatso Mohapi enjoy cooling off in the ocean at Willard Beach.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of North Coast guests said that they were more than pleased with the various attractions and ways in which they had been welcomed.

Taking a break from the rays of sunshine and chilling beneath their umbrella were Kerry and Dawn Cassere, Jill Nelson and Jules Cassere.

“Siggi’s is the place to be when you are not on the beach enjoying the sunshine,” said Bloemfontein resident, Carl van der Merwe.

The Phakathi familybrought their A-game to Willard Beach where they enjoyed everything the awesome weather and beach had to offer.

Carl’s wife Marizka said they enjoyed being able to get away from their hometown and enjoy the numerous activities which the North Coast offers.

Spending some quality time together at the Salt Rock main beach while catching up on what they’ve missed were friends Nick Bacon and Oliver Cribb.

“The kids absolutely enjoyed the snow globe at the Junction.”

Lifeguards at the Salt Rock main beach made sure that everybody not only had fun, but did so responsibly.

Many holidaymakers echoed the same sentiments, however some did point out that there were some issues which needed to be addressed by the municipality.

Oliver Cribb, a visitor from Johannesburg, said that roads throughout the North Coast were in urgent need of attention.

Aside of the condition of roads, others said they had not come across any serious issues.
