It was a gruelling day of coffee and art during the Specialty Coffee Association of Southern Africa (SCASA) National Coffee Competition 2019 finals, as contestants battled it out for the top spot and ultimate champion title.

Held at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre baristas from around the country showed their barista skills in a four-day long event from 21 to 24 February.

Forty regional finalists brewed up a storm for the National Champion title in three categories – Barista Championship, Latte Art Championship and Cup Tasters Championship.

In the end, the winners were Harry Mole of TriBeCa Coffee Company taking the title of Barista champs, Christopher Abrahams (Latte Art) and Thabang Maluleka (Cup Tasters) both from Ciro Beverage Solutions.
