24 – The Wednesday Club is holding its monthly meeting at 9am at the Ballito Library. There will be a guest speaker, tea and a chance to chat. Members are requested to try and bring at least one guest with them. Newcomers are most welcome. Contact Dorothy at 082 729 8693.
25 – Ballito Writers Club will meet at Salt Rock Country Club from 10am-12pm. The speaker will be author Paul Zunckel. All welcome. Contact Rita at 083 259 3158.

- 28 – Don’t miss the Sparesboyz Fishing Fun Day fundraiser for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund at 6am at Dudley Pringle Dam, 6 Kingfisher Crescent, Tongaat. Early-bird registration: R120 bank anglers; R170 watercraft anglers. Register at The Kingfisher Ballito at The Circle Shopping Centre.
- Enjoy a fun-filled day of entertainment for the whole family at the RE/MAX ‘Spark Up The Parks’ Family Fun Day at Ashton College. The fundraising event, which will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 8am – 2pm, is the first of many exciting events planned this year as part of RE/MAX Dolphin’s 2019 community initiative.

- 2 – Speaker Jasper Pons will be talking about Our Majestic Whales at the Pavilion Room, Simbithi Country Club at 6pm. Hear about the life, biology and value of these magnificent mammals. Inquiries: environmental@simbithi.com
- Join the Umhlali & District Garden & Flower Club’s monthly meeting at 9.30am at Muddy Boots Nursery (the old Driefontein Garden Centre) at the Litchi Orchard. Shelley Hedges will be giving a talk on birds and their calls. Visitors welcome at R25.00 per head.
- The Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry are hosting Mark Oppenheimer discussing land expropriation without compensation at Eshowe Hills Golf Estate from 11am – 3pm. Entrance is free. 9 – 11 – Uncorking a full-bodied ‘POURformance’ that includes wine theatres, ‘Search for a Super Taster’ South African Wine Tasting Championships, Wine Label Design Awards presented by Rotolabel, and the opportunity to sample and buy wines from some of SA’s best cellars, The ‘WINEderland’ wine show is not to be missed at The Globe, Suncoast. 10 – Give some strength, spark some hope and give a lot of courage to a child suffering from a terminal illness on Slipper Day in support of Reach for a Dream. Order your wristband on the Reach for a Dream website and wear slippers to work or school.
