The first two days of wave action will be followed by a festive feast as foodies flock to the Ballito Pro Family Food Festival on July 1 and 2 from 3pm-9pm at Ballito Junction Regional Mall.

Family Food Festival head chef Lewaine Von Allemann said they are ready to tickle your tastebuds with exciting cook-off competitions for the young, old and famous.

“We have put together a really incredibly delicious foodie event that will include celebrity cook-offs, crafts, entertainment and pop-up restaurants – all with a strong focus on family fun and environmental sustainability,” said Von Allemann.

The first night will see two family members team up to create a delicious dish using ingredients from the Mystery Box, as well as other pantry ingredients. Entry is free for the contests and there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

Tuesday night will be a must-attend event as Ballito Pro ambassador Sal Masekela will be turning up the heat in the Celebrity Mystery Box Challenge featuring Natasha ‘Bash with Tash’ Munien; South African singer, Bok van Blerk and his wife, Hanna Grobler; a surprise surfer contestant….and more!
