Exclusive Books Gateway was packed with eager fans of author Ilana Gershlowiz at the launch of her book ‘Saving my Sons: A Journey with Autism’, last week.

Award-winning journalist, lecturer, media trainer and consultant Marion Scher wrote the book with Ilana Gerschlowitz.

One of the moms Presha Naidoo said the book has given her hope for her son, eight-year-old Zidane Khan who has autism.

“Ilana is such an inspiration for moms like me. She has made a path for us with her programmes that give our children a chance at life,” said Naidoo.

Orielle Kallie, Leticia Francis and Nicole Gokul from The Star Academy – an autism school in Durban.

“People have assumed that autistic kids cannot be taught, but they can. She has given us new hope and I am so grateful for that.”

The book shop was packed and people eagerly listened to Ilana Gerschlowitz and writer Marion Scher as they spoke about the book.
