Mpume is a sensation, it’s the gospel truth

The KwaDukuza gospel artist recently released her album Intentional Worship.

KwaDukuza gospel artist Mpume Mhlanga is a ‘music missionary’ spreading the Word of God through her newly released album Intentional Worship.

Born in Mpumalanga, she is a firm believer in justice, education and she is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.

“I started singing at a very early age. But formalizing my music career began in 2015 after I felt so unfulfilled that I lacked peace and contentment.”

Mpume Mhlanga believes that her music is the only thing that brings her closer to God.

I did not fit in the world and was experiencing such a void within me. I knew it there and then, it had to do with finding purpose and what made me tick.”

She said she never expected to discover her answer in music.

“My singing makes me fall more and more in love with God and I realised that it was the only thing I could do well that strengthened my love for and relationship with God.

“I decided to give it a try and I have never looked back since then,” said Mhlanga.

The mother of one daughter completed her matric in 2009 at KI Twala Secondary School before enrolling for social science and law degrees at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Mhlanga is a managing director of two companies, PCS Cleaning services, Iworship Lifestyle and a co-founder of the Maximum Output Foundation NPO that focuses on leadership, career guidance, life coaching and community development projects.

“The more I gave myself up to worship the more I realized worship was not meant to be a once off thing but rather a lifestyle.”

She said worship belonged to all spheres of our lives. This motivated her to start the company, Iworship Lifestyle, focusing on social development programs.

Mhlanga developed her voice by singing in praise and worship teams, such as the UCT-Student Christian Fellowship (UCTSCF).

In 2017, she released her first EP titled; “More of You”, which became popular as far as Swaziland.

“I hope my album encourages many more people to find their hope in God.”
